Recently I started to see hype on social media around a low budget horror movie called “Skinamarink.” I never disregard a film just because it has a low budget and the hype around this one has me excited to give it a try.

Skinamarink is a 2022 horror film written and directed by Kyle Edward Bell. The movie stars Lucas Paul, Dali Rose Tetreault, Ross Paul and Jaime Hill.

Let’s cut to the chase, this movie is a combination of low budget, boring, and creepy. It’s best quality in my opinion is its uniqueness to the horror genre. I have to admit that I was bored throughout the majority of the film. As someone with a short attention span, it made it very difficult to stick with this one. My curiosity helped me power through.

Despite that, the movie does deliver a creepy vibe that gives the viewer a sense of dread. There are moments of fear and horror but also some cheap jump scares that hurt the value.

Would I watch Skinamarink again? Absolutely not.

Would I recommend other horror fans to watch Skinamarink? Absolutely! Some people seem to love this film and the hype around it is one of the reasons I watched it. I would recommend others to watch as it’s a unique addition to the horror genre and will give horror fans another perspective in their fandom.
