Season 1, episode 8 of The Twilight Zone series is titled, “Time Enough at Last.” It originally aired on November 20, 1959.

This episode starred Burgess Meredith as Henry Bemis and co-starred Jacqueline deWit & Vaughn Taylor. The show was the first episode not written by Rod Serling but was adapted from a short story by Lynn Venable. The story was originally written in 1953 for a science magazine. The episode was directed by John Brahm.

“Time Enough at Last” is one of the most iconic episodes of The Twilight Zone series. For me, it is also one of the most gut-wrenching episodes of the series. Henry Bemis is just one of those characters you just want to root for but in the twilight zone, you don’t always get what you want. Poor Henry Bemis learns that the hard way.

Despite this being one of the iconic stories of the series, it was extremely difficult for me to score. I love everything about the story writing, the main character and the delivery of the story. However, watching the ending twist just leaves you feeling melancholy.

HFH Score: 7.7/10
